Bentonite used must meet specified properties and be tested for density, viscosity, shear strength, and PH value.
Only bored cast-in-situ under reamed piles are covered, with diameter of under reamed bulb 2.5 times the pile stem diameter.
Contractor must guarantee the safe bearing capacity of all piles and provide additional piles at their own cost if load tests indicate lower capacity.
Boreholes for piling must be made by standard methods, and if high water table is encountered, boring and under reaming shall use bentonite slurry.
Concrete for piling must be placed through a funnel to fill the entire volume without voids, and under water concreting by displacement method.
Top of piles must be brought up at least 30cm above specified cut-off level.
Errors in setting out piles shall not exceed 12mm, and piles out of plumb by more than 1% will be rejected.
Initial load tests for piles are at the contractor's cost; routine load tests on 2% of piles will be paid for.
Contractor must provide all necessary equipment for applying vertical load and measuring settlement for load tests.
The maximum test load shall be twice the anticipated working load on the pile.

In case of any ambiguity, Works Department Office Memorandum No. 173 Dated- 03.01.2026 and Office Memorandum No. 632 Dated- 09.01.2026 shall prevail.
The work must be completed within the stipulated period mentioned in the NIT, commencing from the date of issue of work order.
