Reinforced cement concrete work must use 12mm to 22mm size black hard crusher broken granite chips (20mm size not to exceed 25%).
Shuttering and centering shall be with seasoned Sal wood planks lined with suitable sheeting and leak-proof, or alternatively steel shuttering and centering.
Cement concrete in roof slabs, beams, and wherever prescribed by the Engineer-in-charge shall be machine mixed and vibrated.
Contractor must arrange own concrete mixer, vibrator, pumps etc. for machine mixing and vibrating.
Contractor must abide by the CPWD safety code introduced by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Works, Housing and Supply.
Materials like Cement, Steel, Paints etc. procured and used must be as per I.S.I. specification and approved by the Engineer-in-charge.
The contractor shall employ one or more Engineering Graduates or Diploma Engineers as apprentices for works costing Rs. 2.5 Lakhs and above.
Apprentices' stipends must not be less than Rs. 2000/- per month for Graduate Engineers and Rs. 1500/- per month for Diploma Engineers.
The number of apprentices will be fixed by the Chief Engineer, not exceeding 1% of the tendered cost.
Testing charges, including collection/transportation of samples/specimens, will be borne by the contractor.
An Engineering Personnel of the executing agency should be present at the work site during inspections by high-level Inspecting Officers.
