• SC/ST bidders are entitled to 50% exemption of EMD & ISD and can claim price preference.
• Contractors with Physical Disabilities are entitled to exemption of EMD & ISD.
• Engineer Contractors can claim exemption of EMD & ISD as per OPWD Code, provided they have not exhausted the facility for the year.
• Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) is 1% of the estimated cost for each work, ranging from Rs. 5000.00 to Rs. 35000.00.
• Successful bidders quoting less than the estimated cost must furnish Additional Performance Security in the form of Term Deposit Receipt/NSC within seven days.
• Failure to furnish Additional Performance Security will result in bid cancellation and forfeiture of security deposit.
• Labour Cess @ 1% of the total cost of construction will be deducted from the contractor's bill.
• A 10% Security Deposit (2% initial EMD+ISD + 3% Security Deposit + 5% withheld from bills) will be deducted and released after the maintenance period.
• If the contractor fails to maintain the work during the defect liability period, the ULB will incur expenditure and recover it from the 10% security deposit, and the contractor may be blacklisted.
